What self-love really looks like, and it ain’t bubble baths and shoes…

Has anyone ever said to you, ‘you just need a good spa day or ‘go ahead and treat yourself to those shoes you’ve been eyeing.’ You’ll feel better and be able to move forward. Well, that’s a big fat no! All I managed to do was wrack up more debt and make myself feel even worse. Momentary feel-goods are never the answer to what truly loving yourself looks like and feels like. True self-love isn’t bubble baths and shoes-it’s setting boundaries, speaking kindly to yourself, and choosing what truly nourishes your soul. It is more about understanding who you are and knowing the value, that only you bring to the table. Knowing when to say no, protecting your peace. It’s speaking to yourself with kindness when others aren’t so kind. Accepting, understanding, and healing from past wounds. Wounds run deep, digging them out needs an auger sometimes. It’s forgiving yourself through the process, standing up, and knowing that you are more than worthy of love, respect, and growth. Self-love is a journey of nurturing your soul, understanding your worth, and showing up for yourself in ways that go deeper than surface-level indulgence. It is learning to be comfortable in your skin, understanding that whatever trauma or situation occurred, it happened to you but does not define you. You do. it is about being aware of the pain you carry, vital because of it. Knowing that your scars are signs of a battle, is proof, that you have survived and metamorphosed.
